The recent Class plays at Agastya Academy were a truly joyful celebration, showcasing the talents, hard work, and boundless enthusiasm of our students. Over a magical weekend, each class brought beloved stories to life on stage, transforming Tagore Hall into a world of imagination filled with laughter and pride. These performances highlighted just how much each child had dedicated themselves to learning their lines over 200 sentences making their characters come alive in a way that touched everyone watching.
The Journey of the Little Dwarves (Grade 1)
Our weekend began with Grade 1’s enchanting performance of The Journey of the Little Dwarves. The children’s excitement was contagious as they led the audience through a whimsical adventure. Their radiant smiles and eager expressions reflected pure joy as they guided us into a world of friendship and magic. Watching these young students remember their lines and support one another on stage was a proud moment for everyone in the audience. Parents and teachers couldn’t help but smile as they watched the little dwarves venture through their story with innocence and wonder.
Little Red Riding Hood (UKG Class)
After Grade 1’s performance, our UKG students shared their delightful rendition of Little Red Riding Hood. The play began with a gentle prayer song, setting a calm, reflective tone before the tale unfolded. The children took on each role with an endearing energy of Little Red Riding Hood’s sweetness and the Big Bad Wolf’s playful antics had the audience laughing and cheering. Their colourful costumes and lively performance made every moment special, and the children’s dedication to their lines added an extra layer of warmth to the story. It was a proud moment for parents, who watched their children bring this cherished story to life.
Noah’s Ark (Grade 3) : Class plays at Agastya Academy
Next, the Grade 3 students took us on a journey with Noah’s Ark, a story of trust, compassion, and resilience. As each child took on the role of a character on the ark, their teamwork and careful coordination shone through. It was wonderful to see them work together, confidently sharing their lines and moving with purpose. The story they shared reminded everyone of the values of friendship and cooperation, and the audience felt deeply moved by the heartfelt performance. The ability of these young students to bring so many lines to life so naturally was truly inspiring.
Pinocchio (Grade 2)
Later, Grade 2 students charmed everyone with their playful rendition of Pinocchio. They brought every moment of Pinocchio’s journey to life with a blend of humour and innocence that made the audience smile from beginning to end. The children fully embraced each line, showing off their dedication and the joy of storytelling. The energy and excitement in their performance were contagious, making it a highlight of the weekend. Watching the children bring so many characters to life through their lines and actions was a delight, and their enthusiasm left everyone with lasting memories.
Norse Mythology (Grade 4)
Adding to the excitement, Grade 4 captivated the audience with their performance on Norse Mythology. They took us back to ancient Scandinavia, where tales of heroes, gods, and fearsome monsters were shared during long winter nights. These stories, rooted in the beliefs and legends of the Nordic people from regions like modern-day Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, were passed down through generations, preserving a rich cultural legacy. The students beautifully brought these legends to life, embodying characters from a world where mythology and history intertwined. The depth of their storytelling gave everyone a glimpse into the Nordic world, where gods like Odin and Thor shaped the universe, and courage and adventure reigned supreme. It was a mesmerizing performance that both educated and entertained, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in the hall.
Ancient Mythological Stories (Grade 5)
Finally, the Grade 5 class gave a powerful performance of Ancient Mythological Stories. Each child stepped into their role with a quiet confidence, sharing tales of bravery, wisdom, and wonder. The depth of their storytelling captivated the audience, and it was clear that the students had put their hearts into learning and performing these ancient tales. The colourful costumes and thoughtful staging enhanced each story, but it was the emotion in the students’ voices that truly connected with the audience. It was a fitting finale to a weekend filled with creativity and heart.
Throughout the first week of October, these class plays reminded us of the joy that comes from learning and working together. Watching each child grow in confidence and embrace their characters so fully was a touching experience for everyone in the room.
