Natural Farming at Agastya Academy CBSE Erode | Adhivanam Initiative

Natural Farming at Our School – Adhivanam

At Agastya Academy CBSE, Arachalur, Erode, we believe that education is not only about books  but also about life skills and values. One of the most meaningful initiatives in our school is Adhivanam, our natural farming program.

Adhivanam is a special space in our campus where students learn the importance of nature and sustainable living. As we guide them through this journey, we remind them:

“प्रकृ ति हमारी सबसेबडी गुरु है।”

Through natural farming practices, students understand how food grows and how important soil, water, and sunlight are for life. They begin to realize that learning from nature is one of the purest forms of education.

Learning From Nature

In Adhivanam, students actively participate in planting saplings, watering plants, preparing natural fertilizers, and understanding traditional farming methods

While working in the fields, we often share this thought:

“धरिी मााँकी सेवा करना हमारा कितव्य है।”

This hands-on experience teaches patience, responsibility, and respect for the environment. Students understand that farming is not just an activity — it is a way of living in harmony with nature.

Promoting Healthy Living

Natural farming avoids harmful chemicals and promotes organic methods. Students learn the importance of healthy food habits and sustainable agriculture.

They also understand a very important lesson:

“जैसी धरिी, वैसा जीवन।”

When we protect our soil and environment, we protect our future.

Building Responsible Citizens

Through Adhivanam, our students develop love for nature and gratitude for every grain of food. They understand the value of hard work and the effort behind what reaches their plate. This initiative makes our school unique and connects students deeply with their roots and traditions. Adhivanam is not just a farming space; it is a living classroom. It teaches lessons beyond  textbooks — lessons of care, discipline, patience, and respect for Mother Earth.

This February 14, we celebrate not just affection, but awareness.
Not just emotions, but responsibility.

At Agastya Academy CBSE, we are proud to nurture young minds who grow not only academically but also ethically and environmentally.
