Waldorf Education
Agastya's Early Years and Elementary (I to V) education takes inspiration from the profound philosophy of Waldorf Education, given by the great visionary, philosopher and social reformer, Rudolf Steiner. Steiner developed this philosophy almost one century ago on the lands of central Europe, in the times when the purpose of education was fading behind the burden of the utilitarian society. He brought back the attention of the educators towards the importance of child consciousness and age appropriate curriculum.
Grades 6 - 10
Freedom with responsibility is the core philosophy we adopt in nurturing the growing adolescent. Activities are designed to nurture their intellectual capacity through problem-solving and creative thinking. Learning is not limited to the classroom. Through effective use of outdoor spaces like an herbal garden, pet parks, farming plots, etc. the students are actively engaged in hands-on learning. To help them connect with the real world, debates and discussions, face-to-face, virtual connect programs are conducted periodically.
Senior Secondary
The Senior Secondary at Agastya gives space to the students to think freely and choose an appropriate career path for themselves that is in sync with their talent, passion and aspiration. Right now we are providing the Science (with Math and Bio) and the Commerce stream to our students and look forward to the Humanities stream as well in the coming years. We recruit the best teachers and work hard with trainings and research to keep ourselves updated with the latest methodologies. The Entrepreneur’s Internship is the highlight of the commerce section. Here the students take a two year campus internship with the student run business enterprise model of Agastya Naturals (sustainable products). During this internship the students learn the basics of running a business model right from procurement to manufacture and sales.
